Life is more than work and responsibilities—it’s about finding joy in the things that fuel our passion and creativity. I’m Chad Vincent Florentino, a fourth-year Computer Engineering student at Samar State University, a student leader, youth advocate, researcher, and innovator. I always strive to balance productivity with activities that keep me inspired. Here’s a glimpse into my hobbies and how they have shaped my journey.

Writing & Content Creation

Writing has always been an outlet for my thoughts and ideas. Whether drafting research papers or crafting compelling speeches, I find fulfillment in using words to inspire and inform others. Public speaking also complements this passion, allowing me to articulate ideas effectively and engage with different audiences.

Technology and Innovation

As a Computer Engineering student, my passion for technology extends beyond academics. I enjoy exploring new tech trends, working on embedded systems, and developing smart solutions. Our thesis study, Project MARA: Medicine Access to Remote Areas, is a testament to this passion, as it integrates technology to address real-world challenges in rural healthcare.

Youth Advocacy & Community Engagement

As a youth advocate, I am passionate about making a difference in my community. My involvement in Waray-Waray Youth Advocates allows me to promote sex education and youth empowerment. Volunteering for outreach programs, organizing community projects, and advocating for policy changes are ways I contribute to positive change. Seeing the impact of these efforts strengthens my commitment to creating a better future for others.

Student Leadership

As a student leader, I dedicate my time to leading and representing my fellow students. My roles in the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines Student Edition (ICpEP.SE), University Student Council (USC) and various student organizations inside the Samar State University (SSU) have strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Through organizing events, advocating for student rights, and fostering a collaborative learning environment, I aim to create a positive impact within the university.

Exploring New Ideas & Challenges

I thrive on challenges and love participating in competitions that test my creativity and problem-solving skills. Whether it’s research congresses or innovation challenges, I enjoy pushing boundaries and learning from new experiences. These opportunities fuel my curiosity and growth mindset.

Relaxation & Personal Growth

Beyond academics and leadership, I also value personal time for relaxation. Listening to music, reading about self-improvement, and reflecting on life’s lessons help me stay grounded. I also unwind by traveling and spending time by the sea, appreciating nature’s beauty as a recharge. Taking time for oneself is essential for maintaining motivation and mental well-being.

Through my various hobbies and engagements, I’ve learned that growth comes from embracing both challenges and moments of rest. Balancing productivity with personal well-being is essential in sustaining passion and purpose. Every experience in technology, leadership, advocacy, or self-care shapes who I am and how I impact the world.

Hobbies are more than just leisure activities—they define who we are and what we are passionate about. Through technology, writing, leadership, youth advocacy, and continuous learning, I find meaning in my pursuits. I hope that sharing my interests inspires others to explore their passions and make the most out of every opportunity!
